Good Samaritan Stabbed in San Francisco

A man stabbed multiple times this morning while attempting to break up a fight in downtown San Francisco near the Phillip Burton Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse has been taken to a hospital, police said.

Police received an emergency call at about 4:30 a.m. today about a man wounded in a stabbing in the area of Larkin Street and Golden Gate Avenue.

The man, who is not being identified, had encountered a group of people fighting, tried to stop the altercation and was stabbed several times by someone, police said.

The suspect in the stabbing and others involved in the fight fled the scene and the incident is under investigation, police said.
