Google Looking to Get Into the Lending Business: Report

Tech giant says it is simply running tests

Google has so much money it wants to help you get some.

At least that's what LendingTree, which allows prospective borrowers to get quick offers from multiple lenders, says the search giant is about to get into the same business.

A LendingTree lawsuit against a technology provider claims that it has learned Google plans to launch such a similar lending site later this month or in early September.

The problems is the lawsuit doesn't say how it knows about Google's plans and the Silicon Valley company says it is simply running a small test involving mortgage-related searches

Still LendingTree wants an injunction against a company called Mortech, which offers technology similar to the lending company.

Google says it won't speculate on future projects and a Mortech spokeswoman declined to comment on the lawsuit.
