Green Bay Packer Jarrett Bush Arrested, Released in Vacaville

Green Bay Packers defensive back Jarrett Bush was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after a disturbance outside of a downtown Vacaville restaurant early Sunday morning, Vacaville city spokesman Mark Mazzaferro said.

Police responded around 2:15 a.m. to a large fight in front of Evelyn's Big Italian Pizzeria & Ristorante at 555 Main St., Mazzaferro said.

Most of the large crowd in front of the restaurant quickly dispersed without incident when police arrived but a few remained, including Bush, Mazzaferro said.

Bush continued to create a disturbance and was taken into custody on suspicion of public intoxication, according to Mazzaferro.

After his arrest, police learned Bush was a Green Bay Packer and Vacaville resident, Mazzaferro said.

He was cooperative while detained and was taken to the Solano County Jail. No charges were filed against Bush and he was released a short time later, Mazzaferro said.

Police may release from custody any person without a warrant if they determine there are insufficient grounds for a criminal complaint, according to Mazzaferro.

Police also may release someone without a warrant if they were arrested for intoxication only and no further proceedings are desirable, he said.

The arrest record of a person arrested under those circumstances shall include a record of release and the arrest shall be deemed a detention only, Mazzaferro said.
