Highway Sign Warned of SF Zombie Attack

The undead may get us eventually, but they haven't done it yet.

Zombie-loving jokesters hacked into a digital freeway sign along Highway 1 -- that'd be 19th Avenue for us locals in the Richmond District, where the hack evidently happened -- over the weekend and entered the following message: "ZOMBIES PLUNDER SF."

The message was present for motorists on Sunday and Monday morning, according to the San Francisco Examiner. The sign has since been returned to normal, according to CalTrans.

If you're sick of the zombie craze, you're not alone: CalTrans officials were not amused, dubbing the sign-change "a crime and vandalism."

Maybe hackers should stick to pirates instead.
