Half Moon Bay Man Nabbed After Allegedly Sending 500 Inappropriate Texts to Teen

Authorities have arrested a Half Moon Bay man on suspicion of attempting to engage in lewd acts with a 15-year-old girl after he allegedly sent her hundreds of text messages, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Patrick Joseph Andorfer, 51, of Half Moon Bay, was arrested at about 7 p.m. Wednesday after investigators lured him to the 600 block of Correas Street by exchanging text messages posing as the victim.

The girl's father contacted the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office in August after he found inappropriate Facebook and text messages from Andorfer.

During the four-month investigation, officials found that Andorfer sent over 500 text messages — which became increasingly sexual in content — to the victim.

According to police, Andorfer was booked into the San Mateo County jail on suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and is being held on $50,000 bail.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Gaby Chaghouri at (650) 259-2314 or gchaghouri@smcgov.gov.
