What do Lance Bass, Mike Dirnt, Hosni Mubarak and Oakland have in common? No, not a history of violence. They all share a birthday.
But instead on Wednesday Lance Bass turned 32, Mike Dirnt turned 39, Hosni Mubarak turned 82 and Oakland turned 159.
The folks at Oaklandish, who make the wonderfully comfortable hoodies and shirts espousing all sorts of Oakland love, says on May 4, 1852, the California state legislature incorporated the jewel of the East Bay.
For all the negative press Oakland gets, there are plenty of amazing things about the city. From Lake Merritt to Jack London Square to an evening stroll up Mt. Davis to taking in a show at the Fox or the Paramount.
