California School for the Deaf Students Take on Pharrell's “Happy”

Who says people need to hear in order to produce a music video? Students from the California School for the Deaf in Fremont are "Happy" to prove the doubters wrong.

A 13-year-old student from the Fremont-based campus was one of the filmmakers who put together a music video, using the famed Pharrell Williams track as the background music -- and the lyrics sung via American Sign Language.

The video was filmed at Deaf Film Camp 2014, held at Camp Mark Seven in upstate New York, Walnut Creek Patch reported.

And the video has caught on, grabbing over 826,000 views on YouTube since Aug. 13.

Zahra Chauhan, 13, is one of the Fremont-based students who put together the now-viral video. An aspiring filmmaker, she told Today.com that editing the video gave her the biggest thrill.

And Williams? He's "Happy" about the situation, too, he tweeted recently.
