Hef Prematurely Tweets About iPad Playboy

advertisement

Hugh Hefner's Wednesday tweet about publishing the entire Playboy canon, nudes and all, on Apple's App Store was, in fact, bogus.

The real plan is for Playboy to develop an online subscription service, according to Forbes.com.

A spokesman told Jeff Bercovici the subscription "will give users access to every issue of Playboy both past and present. The service will be iPad compatible and will utilize iPad functions ... We also have plans to release a non-nude version of a Playboy-branded iPad app in the coming months that adheres to all of Apple’s policies and guidelines."

Nothing even remotely appearing like pornography will penetrate the rules and guidelines that Apple has in place.

So that tweet? Mere titilation.

Not quite the same, huh?
