The search is on for the man who police say could be seen on live home security video breaking into a home in Hercules on Wednesday afternoon.

Surveillance video shows the burglary suspect running through the house, which the homeowner says he was able to monitor from his cell phone while he was at work.

Police said they arrived after an alarm alerted them to the burglary. Officers surrounded the home and even brought in a K-9, but the suspect got away.

Police said the homeowner installed the security camera after a previous burglary in October. Burglars stole jewelry in both instances, authorities said.

Anyone with information regarding the case is encouraged to contact Hercules police.
