The California Highway Patrol is investigating a car crash early Saturday morning that happened in Orinda early this morning at the St. Stephens exit of Highway 24.
Firefighters on the scene found a solo vehicle, which had hit a tree. Four people were injured, two of which were trapped inside the car. Firefighters had to use the "Jaws of Life" to help get the victims out.
Three of the victims were transported to John Muir Hospital and were listed in critical condition, the fourth was released with minor injuries.
CHP says the cause of the accident is still under investigation and they don't believe alcohol played a factor in it.
