Home For Sale in Almaden Valley Catches Fire

Family said they lost nearly everything because it was packed up and ready to move in garage

Five people were displaced in a house fire this morning in San Jose, fire officials said. Crews responded to a report of a fire at a structure on Timberview Court at about 4:30 a.m., according to fire officials.  That is in the Almaden Valley portion of San Jose.

Fire officials said the fire started in the garage and spread to the second floor of the home.

The home was up for sale and listed at $1.4 million.  The family told NBC Bay Area that all of their belongings were in the garage packed up and ready to move. 

The fire was deemed under control at about 5:40 a.m., officials said.

Five people - four adults and one juvenile - were displaced, according to officials.

One person was treated for minor injuries at the scene, but no one was transported. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, officials said.
