House Party Mom Arrested in North Bay

Mom released after 3 days in jail. Charges not filed.

NBC Bay Area news has learned police released a San Rafael mom after her son threw a rowdy house party. No charges have been filed against the woman.

San Rafael police arrested Carolyn Hedrich early Saturday morning after breaking up a party at her home. Inside they found teens drinking. One 14-year-old girl was drunk enough that police called an ambulance.

Police, also,  found 57 year old Hedrich upstairs sleeping in her bedroom. Initially, they believed she was drunk. Her attorney, Robert Casper, tells us she had taken a prescription strength sleep aid for an undisclosed illness and did not hear the noise. Casper added his client allowed her teenage son to have a few friends over and the gathering that soon got out of control.

Hedrich's spent the weekend in jail after being arrested for child endangerment, being under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of probation. Hedrich was also served with a civil summons for a violation of Marin County’s Social Host Ordinance.

She was later released Tuesday without any charges being filed.
