Hustler Hollywood Store Opens in South Bay, Stirs Controversy

A new Hustler Hollywood store in San Jose hosted its grand opening celebration Saturday, prompting a mixed pool of reaction from nearby businesses and neighbors.

Parents with young children do not favor the store, which opened more than a week ago, because of the potential crowd of people it may attract while store owners in the small shopping mall welcome any additional business that the store will bring to the area.

Lacey Nevers, Senior Retail Marketing Manager for Hustler Hollywood, also defended the establishment.

"The brand is not what (people) think we are," she said. "We sell a lot of apparel. It's very easy for couples to come in, women."

Roughly $1 million was used to renovate the former Bank of the West shop and transform it into its new look, making it the fifth Hustler Hollywood store to open in California. During Friday and Saturday nights, the store will be open until 2 a.m.
