Incoming Flights to SFO Delayed Due to Bad Weather: Spokesman

The San Francisco International Airport is experiencing nearly 30-minute to 120-minute delays Sunday night, an airport spokesman said.

Inclement weather conditions and wind slowed incoming air traffic to an average of 28 per hour, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA instituted a flight delay program, which mostly impacts aircrafts as they are entering the airport, said spokesman Charles Navigante.

"Of course if it's affecting inbound traffic, it will affect outbound departures as well," Navigante said.

The FAA website said some arriving flights are being delayed by nearly two hours as of 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Passengers are being asked to check with their airline for updates.
