‘It's Something I've Learned From:' Draymond Green Speaks Out About Arrest

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green says he expects to “learn” from his arrest Sunday night after allegedly assaulting someone.

In his first public comment since the incident, Green addressed the arrest at a Fortune tech event Tuesday in Aspen, Colo. saying: “My legal team is handling it. It’ll be resolved really quickly. As a public figure, I just can’t put myself in certain situations. It’s something I’ve learned from, and just move on.”

Green reportedly got into an altercation with a man outside of a bar in Michigan on Sunday at 2:28AM. He was released after posting a $200 bond and his arraignment is scheduled for July 20.

Green is pleading not guilty, but could face assault and battery charges. If convicted, he would face a maximum of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.

As a member of the USA Basketball Olympic Team, Green is scheduled to join his teammates for training in Las Vegas next week as well as play in the Exhibition Game July 26 at Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Both the Warriors and USA Basketball are awaiting details.
