KBLX DJ Who Toured with Prince to Spin Tribute

The Bay Area's Turntable Queen will pay tribute to Prince this week in San Francisco.

KBLX afternoon mix DJ Pam Warren was formerly known as Pam The Funkstress, but now goes by Purple Pam in tribute to her time on the road with Prince.

She was first booked to play at Prince's February 28 after party at 1015 in San Francisco following his two performances at Oakland's Paramount Theatre.

Then, after Prince announced he would play at Oakland's Oracle Arena on March 4, representatives for the artist formerly known as The Artist tracked Warren down at Foster City's Piccadilly Catering Express, where she's chef and co-owner, and booked her to play his afterparty at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall.

Shortly after, she hit the road as his exclusive DJ on his Piano and a Microphone Tour, performing at afterparties for his concerts until just days before his untimely passing on April 21.

Now, she's finding solace in sharing his music with his fans. She'll return to the Great American Music Hall on Wednesday to spin his music and celebrate his life.

Tickets are $5.
