WIIIILLLLSSSOONNNN!!!

From the "Seems Legit" files, a group calling themselves the Wonderment Consortium, has launched a Kickstarter project to raise money for a Tom Hanks statue which will be erected in front Oakland Technical High School.

They say the statue will depict Hanks as his character Chuck Noland from "Castaway," and be over nine feet tall.

The team has raised over $1,000 of the $10,000 it's asking. They say if they raise $20,000 they'll put up another Tom Hanks statue in front of another school. For every $10k, they'll add another Hanks.

It's unclear how legit this really is (the video shows a lot of paper mache), but if you're willing to donate, head over to the Kickstarter page and pledge away.

Tom Hanks graduated from Skyline High Shcool in Oakland in 1974.

Below is the pitch video from the site.
