Kirk Hammett Hosts Day of The Dead

Metallica guitarist appears at Public Works on November 1

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is making a tour stop in San Francisco — this time as an author. An avid collector of horror memorabilia, Hammett celebrates the release of his newly published book Too Much Horror Business — The Kirk Hammett Collection with a special Day of the Dead event at San Francisco's Public Works at 9 p.m. on November 1.

Attendees will get a glimpse of (and a chance to purchase) the new coffee table book, which Hammett calls a "gift to all the other horror nerds out there who are like me," and take in live performances by Oakland string metal band Judgement Day and Concord thrashers Death Angel and a DJ set by San Francisco's Motion Potion featuring MC Nikki Blakk from radio station 107.7 The Bone.

All the ghoulishness is for a cause, too; a portion of the proceeds go to benefit Mission Cultural Center to help in the non-profit's efforts to bring arts education and programming to Latino youth in San Francisco. Admission is $13.99 and tickets are available through Ticketfly.
