A large snake was found in Mountain View late Thursday.
Police received a call from a resident to report a snake in the 1600 block of California Street. Police were told the snake is a boa constrictor, which was found curled up on the porch of a residence.
Police said the snake was calm and did not mind being handled. An officer was able to pick up the snake and put it safely into a cotton sack, police said.
The snake has been transported to the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority.
