Police are investigating a Friday night shooting in Concord that left one person dead and sent another to the hospital.

Officers responded at 11:04 p.m. to the area of Lacey Lane and Monument Boulevard on a report of gunshots fired, police said.

They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in a nearby parking on the 1500 block of Frisbie Court. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

Officers located a second shooting victim on Lacey Lane near Monument Boulevard. The male victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.
