Two men got very lucky Monday morning when their laundry run to the Alameda County juvenile hall sparked a fire in their big rig.
The men regularly drive this route and know it well. But about 3:30 a.m. near San Leandro, the truck hit a low-hanging electrical wire, which sparked a fire in the big rig's wheels.
Fortunately, one of the men is a volunteer firefighter and went into action, officials said.
The men jumped out just before the truck became a melted mass of debris.
