Police are doing extra patrols around two churches in Livermore after they were each hit by vandals.
One is a Mormon church on Mocho Street, near Grenada High School. Church members say vandals are repeatedly spraying hateful graffiti.
One churchgoer said she saw a swastika on the building.
Parishioners have taken to hiding inside the church in the hopes of catching the vandals in the act.
Holy Cross Lutheran Church, down the street, was also vandalized.
