Yasir Afifi, a 20-year-old Mission College student, has filed suit against the FBI for putting a tracking device on his car. Afifi returned from Washington, D.C. late last night. NBC Bay Area caught him at the airport.
He told us the FBI attached the device to his car and then threatened him with federal charges if he didn't give it back. Afifi is suing the federal government for violating his constitutional rights. He says he is not politically active and feels he should not have been targeted.
His lawsuit is asking for an order that bans the FBI from placing GPS devices on cars without search warrants.
