Remembering Loma Prieta 23 Years Later

A pickup truck lies crushed under a concrete beam after the Cypress freeway collapsed following the 6.9 Richter scale earthquake in the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area Tuesday night, Oct. 18, 1989, Oakland, Calif. Death toll is unknown, but a number of motorists perished on this double-deck freeway.
