Los Gatos Beset By String of Auto Burglaries

There are auto burglars at large in Los Gatos.

The small South Bay town has seen a string of 11 auto burglaries in six days, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The crime wave is big news for the small town, the newspaper reported, considering the police log generally takes note of stolen wallets or purses.

Cars have had windows broken on Oka Road, S. Santa Cruz Avenue, Blossom Hill and Los Gatos Boulevard, the newspaper reported.

Police say that it's equally possible the thieves are "local kids looking for a kick" as they are out of-town thieves looking for easy pickings.

Case in point: a stolen credit card has seen charges made from Scotts Valley.
