The NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit has obtained video that appears to show a Lyft driver punching a pedestrian. The video comes to light just weeks after a driver for Uber Technologies, another app-based car service, was involved in a fatal accident in San Francisco on New Year’s Eve. Elyce Kirchner reports.

In a statement, Lyft said the safety of everyone on the road is its top priority, and the company is sorry to hear that this happened.

Lyft representatives also said the driver was carrying a passenger at the time of the crash. Lyft has since deactivated the driver.
