Mail Theft Suspects Arrested in Pleasanton

The four suspects were arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail for stealing mail, among other charges.

A string of mail thefts was uncovered when an observant resident reported mail being taken.

Police said a resident reported one of the suspects removing mail from mailboxes Friday at around 9:20 p.m. near where she lives.

Pleasanton police found and arrested four men inside a silver 2011 Nissan Versa nearby with the suspected stolen mail., according to Sgt. Julie Fragomeli.

The suspects were booked into Santa Rita Jail for possession of stolen property, forgery, conspiracy, and drug-related charges.

The suspects have been identified as:

  • 18-year-old Elmer Aguilar of Concord
  • 26-year-old Gustavo Rivas of Concord
  • 31-year-old Ruben Ramirez of Concord
  • 23-year-old David Gonzalez of Antioch.

Police discovered the stolen mail Friday night with multiple addresses in Pleasanton, as well as 13 other cities within Contra Costa, San Mateo, and Solano counties

Police said the capture of the four suspects was because of the immediate reporting of suspicious activity.
