Male Model Accuses San Jose Businessman of Sexual Battery

A 39-year-old man who allegedly arranged a modeling appointment with an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery in downtown San Jose last week, police said Tuesday.

Roger Francisco, a San Jose resident, met the victim at one of his businesses in the 100 block of West Santa Clara Street, where officers were called around 8:20 p.m. Friday, police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

Francisco owns Designers and Fashion Guild USA, Bay Area Fashion Week and California International Week, according to police.

Francisco was in talks with the victim to model for him, Garcia said.

Over the course of the meeting, Francisco allegedly committed sexual battery on the victim, according to Garcia.

Francisco is executive director of the guild, which was founded in 2011 and made up of hair and makeup artists and models, according to a Facebook page for the group.

The guild is part of the Mainitnons sa Amerika, a San Jose-based nonprofit in which Francisco serves as CEO and chairman.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call San Jose police Detective Moutzouridis at (408) 277-4102. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
