Man Arrested After Copper Stolen From Apple Campus

Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man on charges of stealing copper piping from the Apple campus in Cupertino, where he had been hiding out behind some bushes before a K-9 dog found him and bit him.

Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup said Glenn Cartwright, 56, of Belmont, was arrested Nov. 30 after he was spotted above from a helciptor and sniffed out by a Santa Clara police dog.

Deputies found copper piping and copper wiring, which had been taken from inside an Apple building in the 19000 block of Pruneridge Avenue about 9:30 p.m., and a bag of tools hidden near an exit gate.

Cartwright was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools. Cartwright's bail was set at $11,000.
