Man Arrested for Allegedly Hitting Fremont Grocery Store Employee With Roll of French Bread

Fremont police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of battery after he allegedly hit a grocery store employee multiple times with a loaf of French bread late Sunday night.

Police said they received a call of a man pushing and hitting an employee at the store in the 39100 block of Argonaut Way. When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect was seen yelling at an employee.

According to police, the man was told to exit the store but he didn't comply. He was eventually arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Fremont police did not identify the suspect by name.
