Man Connected to Killing of German Tourist in San Francisco in 2010 Arrested

A man wanted in connection with the killing of a German tourist in San Francisco in 2010 was arrested Thursday.

Police said 21-year-old Devante Laws was taken into custody by members of a U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Laws is a suspected gang member who has been on the Northern California most-wanted web site for years.

Investigators believe he was an accessory in the murder of Mechthild Schroer near Union Square in August of 2010.

She was caught in the crossfire of what police called a gang shootout outside a comedy club.

Six other suspects are charged for the murder.
