Man Falls Off Pier 28 into San Francisco Bay

The man may have been visiting the nearby Hi Dive bar.

    Rescue crews were able to get the man to land after he held onto pylons.

    A male victim fell into the San Francisco Bay early Saturday morning, according to a San Francisco fire dispatcher.

    A call came in to fire crews about someone who fell into the water off Pier 28 along the Embarcadero around 12:21 a.m., the dispatcher said.

    The bar Hi Dive is located at the pier.

    The male was holding onto the pylons until rescue crews were able to get him onto land, according to the dispatcher.

    As of 12:45 a.m. the victim appeared to be in good health and was undergoing a medical evaluation near the scene of the fall, the dispatcher said.
