Man Fatally Shot Outside of SJ Karaoke Bar

Police said the man, believed to be 24 years old, was discovered shot in the parking lot about 2:30 a.m.

A 25-year-old man was killed early Friday morning outside a karaoke bar in San Jose, making him the 18th homicide victim in the city this year.

In what police described as a "chaotic" scene, Sgt. Jason Dwyer said the man was discovered shot in the parking lot of Happioke in the 2100 block of Senter Road about 2:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later.

A witness told NBC Bay Area that there was a fight outside the bar before the shooting, and Dwyer confirmed that police are looking into some type of "altercation" that might have happened inside the bar first.

Dwyer added that police have some very good leads as to who might have done this, and hoped to have an arrest soon.

The man's identity is being withheld until the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office notifies his family.
