The 65-year-old fell off a ladder while working at a house he owned.

Police responded around 3:30 p.m. and the man was pronounced dead about 10 minutes later.

A man died Friday after a tree trimming accident in San Jose.

The 65-year-old San Jose resident fell off a ladder while he was pruning a tree on the 1700 block of Hillmont Avenue in east San Jose, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Police responded around 3:30 p.m. after someone reported the fall.

The man was pronounced dead at 3:42 p.m.

The man owned the house he was working at, but he rented it out to others.

The San Jose Police Department and Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating.
