San Jose police are investigating a homicide that left one man dead after a shooting in downtown San Jose's "Fountain Alley" that started as a verbal argument and ended up with two people pulling out guns.
One of the people was shot and died of his injuries at the hospital, Lt. Jason Herr said.
The fight - and subsequent shooting - was reported near Santa Clara and 2nd Street around 11:35 p.m. Thursday, Herr said.
The San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting at this time.
No one has been arrested.
