South San Francisco police are investigating a report of an armed robbery of a PlayStation 3 video game system.

The robbery was reported around 2 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of Southwood Drive, police said.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, told police he was sitting on a bench when a man approached him and demanded his backpack. The bag contained a PlayStation 3 system, three games and a controller, according to the victim.

When the victim refused to give up the backpack, the other man allegedly threatened to shoot him, pulling up his sweatshirt to display a black handgun tucked in his waistband.

According to police reports, the suspect then grabbed the victim's backpack and ran across a baseball field to a four door, silver vehicle parked on Haven Avenue.

The suspect was described as a white man around 20 years old, with short, dark hair and a medium build. Police reports estimate his height as between 5 foot 7 and 6 feet tall.

Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900.
