Man Suffers Life-Threatening Head Injury in Racially Motivated Attack

San Francisco police say they are investigating an assault that left a man with life-threatening injuries in the city's Crocker-Amazon neighborhood on Saturday as a racially motivated hate crime.

The attack occurred around 6 a.m. Saturday as the 49-year-old victim was walking in the 300 block of Lowell Street, police said.

Two male suspects stopped the victim by blocking his path and yelling at him, police said.

The victim walked away, but was struck with some sort of object, leaving him with head trauma.

Police said the victim was in stable condition as of this morning.

No arrest has been reported in the case and no suspect descriptions were immediately released.
