Man With Cache of High-Power Weapons and Ammunition Arrested at Metro Gold Line Station

A man seen urinating in public at the Sierra Madre Metro Gold Line Station in Pasadena was arrested Wednesday with a "cache of weapons" inside his duffel bag, officials announced.

Sheriff's deputies working a foot beat discovered the man was carrying a loaded handgun restricted for law enforcement use, a loaded high-power firearm, high-capacity magazines, a suppressor and other dangerous items.

The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Christopher Goodine of Georgia.

Goodine was placed under arrest for possession of the illegal weaponry.

He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail pending a Friday court appearance in Pasadena, according to sheriff's inmate records.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Jim McDonnell said there is no intelligence to indicate there was a nexus to terrorism, but "the outcome would not have been good no matter what he was going to do."

"We're vetting it every which way we can," McDonnell added.
