Police arrested a man on a green child-size dirt bike who led them on a brief chase from San Ramon down the popular Ironhorse Trail to a Burger King in Danville.
Joseph Bozzie, 25, of Danville, was riding erratically on a green, child-size Kawasaki KX65 Thursday afternoon, so San Ramon officers gave chase, said Danville Lt. Allan Shields.
Bozzie has a suspended license, Shields said.
"You don’t need a license to ride a dirt bike, only if you’re on road," he said.
But motorized vehicles aren't allowed on regional trails at all. Shields said motorcycles aren't compatible with other trail uses, especially when the trails are busy with bicyclists, families and joggers on sunny afternoons.
"He started on Crow Canyon Road, then he went on Iron Horse Trail. They lost him on the trail, then found his bike over by the Danville Burger King," Shields said.
Danville officers found his tiny dirt bike parked at the fast food restaurant.

"He tried to get back on the bike. They had to grab him by the arms to put him in handcuffs," he said.
He was booked in jail on suspicions of driving with suspended license, resisting arrest and being under influence of controlled substance, probably a stimulant, Shields said.
