Manresa Restaurant to Open Neighboring Bakery in Los Gatos

Acclaimed Los Gatos restaurant Manresa is set to open a new bakery.

ManresaBread has moved into the space at 276 North Santa Cruz Avenue, about a block away from the restaurant. Manresa's head baker, Avery Ruzicka, is a partner in the project and leads the kitchen.

Among the rotation of small batch breads and pastries on offer will be levain, polenta sourdough, sesame flax sourdough, monkey bread, kuri squash streusel muffin, hazelnut brown butter cake and pecan sticky buns.

ManresaBread has been selling a selection of baked goods at South Bay farmers markets since 2013. The bakery will maintain its presence at the Palo Alto and Campbell farmers markets on Sundays as well as at PopUp in Santa Cruz on Wednesdays.

Manresa restaurant, which has two Michelin stars for excellence, reopened in December after a July 7 fire that took six months and $2 million to rebuild.

According to Manresa's publicity firm Wagstaff Worldwide, the bakery will make its debut on Feb. 21.
