Blue Man Group Sued By Marin Man

Bouncing blue ball injured Novato man, he says in lawsuit.

Seeing Blue Man Group can be quite the experience -- full contact, for one Marin man who is suing the show for an injury.

Stan Michelman says that a blue ball "that flew into the audience" during a June 2011 show in San Francisco hit him in the arm, causing "shock and injury to his nervous system" -- and $40,000 in medical bills, according to the Marin Independent Journal.

He's suing Blue Man Group and the host theater, Golden Gate Theatre, for the medical bills as well as "loss of past and future wages," the newspaper reported.

It's unclear how serious the lawsuit is. Court records show that James Proctor, Michelman's lawyer, missed a deadline and a court date, the newspaper reported.

Another man in Chicago sued Blue Man Group in 2008, alleging that the performers shoved a camera down his throat. The attorney who filed that suit says that it was "settled for nominal dollars," the newspaper reported.
