Mega Millions Winning Ticket Sold in Alameda Co.

Winner initially thought he'd only won $6k.

A long-time lotto player started off a short vacation with a winning ticket he picked up in Alameda County, last Tuesday.

Dana Waller purchased the ticket at a Rotten Robbie service station on Herperian Blvd in Hayward. He matched five numbers, missing only the Mega number, netting him a cool $617,688.

“I didn’t believe it was real. At first I thought I’d won $6,000,” Waller said.

Waller and his wife plan to spend the winnings wisely, buying a house, taking care of family and investing in growing their businesses.
