Walnut Creek Police Looking for Witnesses to Fight at Original Mel's

Police are looking for witnesses to a fight at a Original Mel's restaurant in the East Bay that led to one person hospitalized and another arrested on suspicion of battery.

Walnut Creek police say they responded to a report of a physical altercation and found one person seriously injured inside the restaurant, 1394 N. Main Street, when they arrived at about 2 a.m. on Dec. 20. That person was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

Twenty-four-year-old Pleasant Hill resident Bryce Halliday was arrested.

After watching surveillance video from the diner, police determined there might be witnesses. They are asking those witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation by contacting Detective Gabe Mauro at (925) 943-5881.
