Two men carrying handguns robbed a liquor store in midtown Palo Alto on Saturday night and are still at large, police said.

Police say the men entered Century Liquors at 3163 Middlefield Rd. around 7:55 p.m. and held the clerk up at gunpoint--demanding cash and liquor. The men then put about $230 worth of alchohol into backpacks, took cash and fled on foot. According to police, no one else was in the store when the robbery occurred.

Police say they searched for the suspects with the help of a canine unit from Mountain View and a Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office helicopter, but were unsuccessful.

The men were described as being in their twenties and black. One of the men was about 5 feet 10 inches tall, the other was about six feet tall and slender. They were both wearing black masks, black jackets, and dark pants.
