Milpitas High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat

Students from Milpitas High School were sent home Thursday after someone called in a bomb threat from a pay phone, police said.

Students were released at 10 a.m., after they were first sent to wait on the football field, according to the Milpitas Unified School District website. Other nearby schools remained in session for the day.

Police said that the call was tracked to a pay phone, and there was no specific target: The caller mentioned a bomb and hung up.

rincipal Cheryl Lawton sent an email to parents at 9:13 a.m., telling parents about the threat, adding that students were not being released from school.
