Monterey County Girl Subject of Statewide Amber Alert

Police say girl was taken by her boyfriend and her boyfriend's father.

Police issued a statewide Amber Alert Sunday for a 16-year-old old from Monterey County believed to have been taken by two men who may be headed to Mexico.

Police said Eunice Serrato of San Ardo was taken about 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s office said the suspects – a father and son – are “persons of interest” in two homicides and are considered armed and dangerous.

The suspects are identified as 39-year-old Juan Salazar Senior and 19-year-old Juan Manuel Salazar. They are driving a 2000 blue Chevy Tahoe with California license plate 6 W 5 4 1 2 4 and may be headed to Mexico.

Serrato apparently is the girlfriend of the younger suspect.

Serrato is described as Hispanic, 5-feet 5-inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. She has tattoos on her right middle finger, her back and her upper right leg.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should call Detective Brett Speirs at 831-755-3805 or the TIP line at 888-833-4847.
