Power Restored To Most Customers in Cupertino

Power has been restored to all but 225 customers in Cupertino, where two outages occurred Sunday morning, one that affected more than 3,000 customers, a Pacific Gas & Electric Company spokeswoman said.

At 8:28 a.m. Sunday, a power failure impacted 3,136 PG&E customers in west Cupertino, then down to about 1,418 customers by about 8:55 a.m. before it was restored, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.

The second outage happened soon after at 9:01 a.m., to the same 1,418 ratepayers, generally in an area bordered by Interstate Highway 280, Bubb Road, Mary Avenue and Bollinger Road, Morris said.

Power was restored again to all but 225 of the customers at around 12:30 p.m. and full restoration is expected by about 2 p.m., Morris said.

What caused the outages remains under investigation, Morris said.
