A fatal motorcycle crash prompted the closure of a busy intersection in Santa Clara late Tuesday, police said.
At 5:15 p.m., the motorcyclist was riding southbound on Saratoga Avenue prior to being involved in a collision with an SUV at Pruneridge Avenue, according to police.
The motorcyclists, described as a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the driver of the SUV was not immediately known.
A police investigation prompted the intersection to be closed. Roads were scheduled to reopen by 11:30 p.m.
No other information was immediately available.
