A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday morning in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood, police said.
At 9:12 a.m. officers responded to an accident on Cesar Chavez Street between Evans Avenue and Pennsylvania St., police said.
A male motorcyclist was down on the street after apparently colliding with a van, police said.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist was traveling east on Cesar Chavez when he collided with the van head-on, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. His identity is being withheld until the medical examiner's office notifies his family.
The driver of the van stopped after the crash and is cooperating with police.
As of 11 a.m. Cesar Chavez Street was closed between Evans Avenue and Pennsylvania Street. Authorities advise avoiding the area.
