Mountain Lion Spotted Near Palomar Park in San Mateo County

A mountain lion was seen near Palomar Park in San Mateo County Friday morning, San Mateo County emergency officials said.

The car was spotted in the 300 block of Palomar Drive, at about 1 a.m., according to county officials.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone who has a close encounter with a mountain lion should not run from the animal, but face it and make a lot of noise, according to wildlife officials.

Mountain lions are typically most active at dawn and dusk.
